In Germany, there are more than 25 thousand palaces, castles and fortresses that served as residences of noble families, as well as carried military-strategic functions. Many have survived only in the form of romantic ruins, such as the famous ruins in Heidelberg. Some remained in the ownership of the descendants of the ancient German families, others became museums, hotels, tourist centers – they all make good content for a good cover photo.
